Drunk and refusing to quit

Henry Anderson and Elizabeth Flack were fined in March 1879 at the Melbourn Petty Sessions for being drunk in the Fox Inn, Thriplow, and refusing to leave when asked to do so by the alehouse keeper.

You can read more in volume 6.1 (1997). Interestingly Henry Anderson had form, having been convicted of being drunk in the Fox Inn the year before, though on this occasion the alehouse keeper was also fined for  permitting drunkeness in his own house.

The final comment about Elizabeth Flack in the Herts & Cambs Reporter dated March 31st 1879 is not one that would be printed these days!
