{"id":1654,"date":"2022-07-20T09:50:59","date_gmt":"2022-07-20T08:50:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thriplow.org.uk\/gardening-club\/?p=1654"},"modified":"2022-07-20T09:51:00","modified_gmt":"2022-07-20T08:51:00","slug":"june-2022-diamond-anniversary-garden-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thriplow.org.uk\/gardening-club\/2022\/june-2022-diamond-anniversary-garden-party","title":{"rendered":"JUNE 2022- Diamond Anniversary Garden Party"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On the evening of Thursday June 2<sup>nd,<\/sup> members of the Gardening Club gathered for a 60<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary Soir\u00e9e in the garden of The Dove House in Fowlmere.<\/p>\n<p>As the sun shone, guests sat round tables under the trees enjoying a glass of wine and tasty finger food selected from an extensive buffet laid out in the marquee. There was an abundant plant stall and some attractive prizes to be won in the raffle. Puzzlement and laughter ensued as a challenging picture quiz took members looking for clues round the garden. There was, of course, a prize giving at the end. It was a good night for Derek Pinner who won both the competition for the best single rose and the quiz!<\/p>\n<p>During the evening we welcomed our guest speaker, Erica Carrick Utsi,\u00a0who worked in Ukraine in 2017, as a ground penetrating radar specialist with the \u201cProtecting Memories Project.\u201d Through one of Erica\u2019s contacts in the country, Anya Voitenko, a photo journalist, we learn about \u201cHospitallers\u201d a Ukrainian voluntary organization of paramedics saving lives on the front line right now.
