One balmy summer evening terror struck the hearts of Fowlmere residents! Why were the \u2018gilets jaunes\u2019 walking the streets of this usually peaceful village?\u00a0 Fears were soon allayed when the locals realised that it was the noble men of the Gardening Club wearing their high vis yellow jackets to ensure that members reached their destination safely by directing drivers to safe parking areas!\u00a0 Yes, it was the night of the soir\u00e9e. Once a year a plucky family opens their garden for the Club and members enjoy a buffet and a drink or two in lovely surroundings.\u00a0 This year Maureen and Robin Cox hosted the evening.\u00a0 Their beautiful garden was a picture – we loved the way that\u00a0 the plants seemed to nestle happily together. The planting was superb, the rose garden and the pond completed the picture.\u00a0 Robin had even put together an excellent quiz about birds which challenged us all!\u00a0 A splendid occasion.<\/p>\n
